The LG VX8550 (Chocolate) is a Nice Phone!
I recently switched over to my mom’s cell phone plan (hey now, I’m a college student! :p) and I chose the LG VX8550/Chocolate. Upon playing around with it on the subway, I was very impressed with it. Texting is very comfortable, as well as navigating through the menus. The speaker phone is loud and clear, which is nice. Speaker phone is incredibly helpful when I need to talk to someone on the phone but need my hands free! Overall I think it’s a wonderful fun, and would definitely suggest it to a friend. I’ll post here if/when I have problems with it!
“You Can’t Buy a Circle Pit at Hot Topic”
Yesterday Heather and I saw Cute Is What We Aim For, Plain White T’s, Gym Class Heroes, and Fall Out Boy at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY. Personally, not my type of music but regardless it was fun. It was pretty funny though, the bassist Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy was telling story about how Every Time I Die has such great circle pits, and how the members are always making fun of FoB for not having circle pits at their shows. It was then that Pete said
You can’t buy circle pits at Hot Topic, so our fans don’t have them.
I think that was the best thing I’ve heard in a while, and it made me so happy to hear Pete Wentz dis his own annoying 14 year old fans.
GMail Link Redirect Broken?
It seems that ever since GMail upgraded their JavaScript framework, I haven’t been able to access links included in emails (among the horrible speed issues). I’ll click the link, which then opens in a new tab in Firefox. What I then see is a white page with the URL http://mail.google.com/mail/?tab=wm. Pretty weird, huh? I wonder if anyone else is having this problem…
FlickrBooth is Fun!
Earleir this evening I installed the FlickrBooth plugin for Photo Booth. The URL to my Flickr account is http://flickr.com/photos/jordansphotobooth/. It’s really neat to take a bunch of photos, then go to Flickr and painlessly be able to embed them on Myspace, or share the links via email. :)
I Sure Don’t Miss My Last Job
Earlier today, I took a train from Penn Station at 1:45pm and arrived in Utica, NY at around 6:30pm. Just on time! Overall, the trip was quite pleasant, as I watched Michael Moore’s SiCKO as well as the Disney/Pixar animated film Ratatouille. Both were excellent films (for very different reasons, obviously) and sure made the time fly by. I would definitely have to say that ratatouille is by far one of the only animated films that I have wanted to watch. I was very impressed to see that Amtrak offers outlets to plug in our digital devices. Without that, I wouldn’t have gotten through my second movie! Now all we need is some wireless Internet and we’ll be all set.
Anyways, I stopped in at my old workplace and within several minutes I was incredibly glad to be away from there. And not only away, but far, far away! It was like a step back into high school, with the he said/she said crap. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of people that are employed at the New Hartford Wal*Mart are complete and utter idiots! It seems harsh to say, yes, but believe me – I worked there for about 7 months and I feel overly qualified to say that they are idiots. Not just the peons on the salesfloor, but the management (Assistant manager Donna Jean Frost, as well as the store manager Paul Plevritis).
