And Some Cornbread, Too!

Posted on Saturday, December 22, 2007 in food

I’ve been experimenting with the low-carb diet as a means of losing a couple pounds, so making cornbread tonight probably wasn’t the greatest idea! But boy, oh boy, was it delicious!

By the way, I really hate the term “diet” with a passion. People these days just throw the word around as if it’s a fad. I prefer to call this new way of eating a “lifestyle”. That’s more fit, I think!

Mmm, Banana Bread!

Posted on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in General

Last night I made some pretty bitchin’ banana bread, and I must say that I was quite proud of it! Baking it stirred something up in me, so now I’m really interested in doing more of this. I’m off to find some recipes for muffins, bread, etc. Maybe I’ll ask for a bread machine for Christmas! XD

Switched from iTunes to foobar2000

Posted on Friday, December 14, 2007 in Technology, computers, music

Now that I have about 2,700 songs in iTunes, it’s starting to lag quite a bit. I have 1GB of RAM with Firefox, AIM, and iTunes open, that’s it. I’m was sick of iTunes lagging all the time and making my songs skip so I switched to foobar2000 and I’m much happier with it! It works with last.fm which is cool, too.

Wakoopa

Posted on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in Internet, Technology

I’ve had the Wakoopa tracker installed on my computer for quite some time, and it sure has collected a lot of data. It runs 24/7 in the background recording my every move! This data is then presented on the Wakoopa website in a pretty way. To date, here are my most frequently used programs:

jmeeter on Wakoopa

I have added the Wakoopa widget to this site, so those who are curious can see for themselves.

Unintentionally Stealing WiFi Bandwidth

Posted on Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Humor, Internet, Technology, computers

My first day in New York City, I was in my mom’s apartment hooking up my desktop computer. After hooking everything up. I started to look around for the ether net cables. I couldn’t find a router, no modem, no nothing. I asked my mom where this stuff was, and her response was that she didn’t have Internet in her apartment. My eyes went wide, and I asked her how in the world she was using the Internet on her laptop. She didn’t really have a response. So I jumped on her laptop on lol-ed when I saw that she was completely oblivious to the fact that she was connecting to the Internet via a neighbors WiFi.

(And yes, we are now on our own account with Time Warner! :D)
